into the wayback machine, sherman . . .

i was leafing through a very old scrapbook and this picture fell out:
talk about ancient.  that is me on my mother's lap.  my sister to the right next to my dad.  my aunt janet on the far right.  on the left were my second parents, our next door neighbors, e and mr. e.  the other little girl is their daughter, elaine.  apparently, i couldn't wrap my tongue around Engle, so the e stuck.  we did it, mr. peabody!!!!

Kinda like our next door neighbors growing up were the Scerbo's. My four year old self could NOT pronounce their name. So she was Missy Bo and he was Poppy. Til they died, even after I could well pronounce their names. She taught me to make fried dough, pastina, and always had a jar of butterscotch candies as a treat for her Favorite Neighbor Girl. Oh, and the cream off the top of the milk? That was MINE!!!
