yay . . .

no more itchy caterpillars on my chest!!!!!  happy.  happy.  and, i get to stay out of his office for six months.

cheated for dinner and kidlet picked up a lemon pepper chicken from publix.  made some onion taters to go with and finally tried corn on the cob in the microwave.  why have i been so resistant.  more corn on the menu.

another stunning day in the neighborhood and good lunch with nancy.  speaking of nancy, she has these gorgeous lilies in her yard and has brought two bunches over.  nothing like waking up in the morning, walking downstairs and inhaling lily aroma.  too good.

i took more shots but the light was fading.  are these not gorgeous!?!?!?!?

animal farm part deux . . .

we ran out of honey, so kidlet and i took off for palatka.  they sell really, really good raw honey from a roadside stand.
but it seems the owners of the stand have broadened their horizons and are selling metal animals. we all know how i feel about metal animals in the house, so a flying pig jumped into the trunk of the car. and as soon as he has had a bath, he will be introduced to the goat and the reindeer.  in the meantime, meet these friends:

yes, my hair was blown every which way from the top being down but too much fun.

and finally, this guy is coming home with me next time I make a honey run:
and i'll leave you with one shot of possibilities:
it was a great day in florida.

perfect day. perfect company. perfect food.

lee and her son, doug and i ran away to st. augustine and parts north today.  we figured it would be less crowded than tomorrow.  kidlet was up also up north but further than we were.  she was trying on bride's maid dresses.  another story.

and so, in no particular order, fort matanzas.  i think i'd need more closet space.
they told us a head of time to plug our ears.  since i couldn't hold down the shutter and hold my ears at the time time . . .   problem was, the kaboom was so loud, i jumped and missed the shot anyway.
love a man in uniform.
then we went further north up to st. augustine to eat at the conch hut.  you have to try it if you're in the area.  yeah, who doesn't want to eat fresh fish overlooking a marina on a drop dead gorgeous day?
it was only one beer.  the conch was not holding me up.
but it was fun with these two characters.  check out the double fisted drinker.
and then we finally headed home.  life is rough.
and the sightseeing was pretty good too.  this guy and his friends were following us.
count them.  one.  two. three. four.
this is lee and i.  brave souls.
it was a wonderful day.  wonderful friends.  wonderful food.  oh yeah, i forgot the food.  there were some shrimp tacos, some peel and eat shrimp and some fried oysters.  slurp.

and the very last of the spring caterpillars, i hope . . .
and saving the best of the best for last.  this little goodie has lots of pages, lots of surprises.  things that open out. things that fold up and under and pull and push.  all created by my friend sue and happily appeared in my mail box.  thank you. thank you. thank you.

once again, what a spoiled little girl and i and so loving it.

i am queen . . .

joanie found this and passed it on.  it made me so happy, i may have to take a nap. i may also have altered it a tad.  no offense to Anna Bashkova, the originator of the article.
"Professional napping is a skill: a masterful art form that is really, very under-appreciated.  Very.
You are part of an elite group of people, who can only truly appreciate that feeling you get when you achieve a Holy Grail Nap:
  1. All of your major life problems are solved by a nap: when you wake up from your nap, either the problem has disappeared or has gotten so big that you can’t do anything about it anyways.  And you can always return to your nap until the earth has rotated and things are once again right with the world.
  2. Actually, almost everything in your life is solved with a nap. You don't make decisions without it.
  3. No one messes with your naps….You ain't fucking with my nap.  Too true.
  4. You have canceled on people because of your nap time...
  5. And are perpetually late to dates because you can't survive social interactions without it.
  6. You don’t feel guilty anymore…I mean, a nap can make the difference between you hating or loving everyone.  No one likes a crab apple so multiple naps are good.
  7. You have come to the realization that napping for three hours on a Friday afternoon is the closest you'll ever get to heaven.  Unless it is four or five.
  8. You have been betrayed by your holy act though...
  9. Like when you try to take a 20 minute nap, and then wake up 8 hours later confused as to what century you’re in.
  10. You then spend the next few hours looking like Einstein, who I am absolutely certain napped as well.
  11. Sometimes you just have so much to do that you just decide to take a nap.
  12. Couches, chairs, floors…..are all wonderful opportunities just waiting for you to nap on. and beds.  especially beds.
  13. You have absolutely no shame on the weekend when you go back to sleep only a few hours after waking up. or any other day of the week.
  14. The struggle gets real when you have to decide between getting food or napping for just a little bit longer. (The nap always wins).
  15. Anything you do that makes you feel proud, gets rewarded by a nap. 10 crunches? I think that deserves a little nap.
  16. You get outrageously jealous of animals like cats who just get to nap all day long.  Unless you live with three and are on the same schedule.  Then it's a furry nap and even better.
  17. Your friends know what’s up if you don’t text them back for hours…
  18. You probably got a little too excited reading this and are now drooling at the thought of taking your precious nap today."
I like the way this woman thinks.  Naps are good.  As necessary as air and food.  Friendship and shopping.  Bathing and reading.  zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
