leave her the hell alone . . .

so i tried a new meal last night.  rustic pork roll stuffed with fresh rosemary, thyme, garlic and olive oil, cheddar scalloped potatoes and green beans sauteed in oil.  well, bacon grease but i was trying to be politically correct. oh and a gravy from the drippings with dijon mustard, chicken broth and butter.  slurp.
kidlet ate her green beans raw.  that's the way she prefers them.  she ate the pork but didn't love it.  tried the gravy.  hated the scalloped taters.  k2 ate the green beans and that's about it.
the rule around here is that if you tried it and didn't like it, get yourself something else to eat but i'm not cooking and/or paying for it.  grumble.  grumble ;o )
they headed to chick-fil-a.  kidlet was not that hungry since she really did eat most of her dinner, so all she got was a peppermint/chocolate chip milkshake. k2 got a full meal.
i'm doing dishes and kidlet gives me a sip of her milkshake and turns her back so i steal it and run out of the kitchen with her hot on my trail.  by the time i was running past the bathroom the second time, i lost control and said milkshake hit the floor and splattered all over the place.
k2 laughed like a hyena.  kidlet headed back out to get herself a replacement.
kidlet arrived home.  the line was too long and she was upset that she is upset.  that's the way her world goes.  she came up to chatter about it and calmed herself down.
moral of the story.  baby steps are needed in the life of kidlet and having a milkshake stealing mom is not a plus.
