i ran . . .

away with robin and julie.  i needed it.  we all needed it. so packing up the car, we headed to points west and got a cabin in silver springs state park.  the same cabin we had last fall.  home away from home.  i was stressed.  tense.  uptight and miserable.  nothing a getaway, some wine and some really good friends can't cure.  oh and lots of really good food.

after setting in we took off down the 'swamp' trail for a walk.  it was a really nice meander through the woods and when the ground became, well, swampy. they built a cat walk.  pretty sweet!
and it opened up into the silver river:
 isn't that gorgeous?
but wait until you look down.  the water was clear and calm and so reflective, i got this shot of the clouds in the river.  it thought it was very van gogh-ish.
can you tell where the river starts and the sky ends??? me neither and i was there.  stunning! and if we moved to the other end of the dock, we found this:
as we wandered back via a second path, robin spotted a deer.  a good sized white tailed deer.  wow.  i still get excited seeing wild life.

back to the cabin and a little wino.  some great food, compliments of robin and julie.  p.s.  julie made THE best hummus.  i need the recipe.  badly.  are you listening, julie?
 slurp!
lots of chatter and off to bed. and yes, i might just have killed a bottle of wine.
