call me klutz . . .

being the absolutely gorgeous day it was today, i decided to don a pair of shorts and a tee and work on the pool deck for a bit.  it's embarrassing how grungy and green it had become since fall.   kidlet came out to soak up some afternoon warmth and keep me company.

my first snag was realizing the hose was still out front from the water main debacle. i dragged the kinked and grimy monster back to the deck and tried to figure out how it had been attached to its storage wheel.  it seems pliers were required, which in turn required a pound of flesh.  i shook my damaged knuckles and jammed them in my mouth.  as kidlet helped me un-kink the snake on the deck, i finally got it hooked up and wound around the wheel only to realize it was ass backwards.  you know, like toilet paper.  it needs to unroll from the top not from the bottom . . . well, at least in my world.

as soon as i turned on the faucet, i realized the head was in the open position and aimed straight at me.  ten minutes on the deck and i was already soaked. this did not bode well.  and, i managed to try and drown myself two more times while bleaching and brushing just one section of deck.  call me klutz.  i promise i will answer.

finally with that one large section of deck clean and three table tops free of mold, i decided i needed a break.  hose running, i wandered over to the tap to turn off the water but not before i was once again drenched.  huh?  seems the hose head had malfunctioned and separated from the end of the connector thingy that screws onto the hose itself.  there i was with water pouring out all over me.  i turned off the water, reattached the head and tried again.  this time the head literally blew off and i could hear kidlet guffawing from her perch on the lounger.  is there no dignity?

i may not be the brightest crayon in the pack but i know when to say uncle.  i spent the rest of the afternoon sprawled in the shade enjoying the warm winter breeze.  life as it should be.

Laughed out loud, but very disappointed that there are no accompanying photos.
