I’ve been a member of an online group of friends for close to ten years . . . brought together originally on AOL’s scrapbooking board; we’ve since found a new more private home on Yahoo. Scrapping is no longer the glue that holds us together. We’ve morphed past that stage. We’re from all over the country, from all walks of life, all ages. We are Heinz 57 at its best and I love these women.

A couple of days ago, someone posted this little goody:

So after landing my new job as a Wal-Mart greeter, a good find for many retirees, I lasted less than a day.

About two hours into my first day on the job, a very loud unattractive, mean-acting woman walked into the store with her two kids, yelling obscenities at them all the way through the entrance. As I had been instructed, I said pleasantly: Good morning and welcome to Wal-Mart. Nice children you have there. Are they twins?”

The ugly old woman stopped yelling long enough to say, “Hell no, they ain’t twins. The oldest is nine and the other is seven. Why the hell would you think they’re twins? Are you blind or just stupid?” So I replied, “I’m neither blind nor stupid, Ma’am, I just couldn’t believe you got laid twice. Have a good day and thank you for shopping Wal-Mart.”

My supervisor said I probably wasn’t cut out for this line of work.

I replied back that I wasn’t sure why I loved this joke so much. Today, Dana answered, “Because just like me, you are trying to figure out how many people from this board you could see actually saying/doing something like that? ;o)”

I had to laugh. She’s right. There are two, I know, who would be right there with me if I let my mouth fly. Another three would only need a tiny nudge to join in the fun. The rest? Well, while all but one might not be up for it, they wouldn’t disapprove either. And I know I’d see the corner of their lips curl up in a hint of a smile. Gotta love them.

So I'm no longer a part of that group, but that so sounds like something that would come out of my mouth! And as I'm getting older, I find that what little couth I might have been born with is fast leaving! ;)

LOL! I'd like to think I'm part of the fun group! I've been known to mutter similar thoughts under my breath or as asides to companions! ;o)
