attitude adjustment . . .

Is there anything better than fresh, from the garden (Joanie's), basil, mixed with tiny balls of fresh mozzarella, and a plump ripe tomato, a little sea salt, ground pepper and drizzled with a little dressing?

Pair that with a couple of seasoned, hot off the grill filets, throw in steak fries for the 9TS and baby spinach sauteed in garlic infused olive oil for me. Sigh, I think I've gone to heaven.

And then top off the whole thing with this little baby.

OK, so I may have inhaled a few thousand calories but, darn it . . . I am a happier soul.

It's been 35 years since I moved to the land of hurricanes and humidity. Yet every fall, I look forward to the change of seasons wardrobe. I simply ignore the fact that I have to wait until mid January to be able to wear it for all of three days, after which time, out once again, come my flip flops, T's and capri's. But for those three days, I am blissfully buried in wool, denim and leather. Today I bought a three button, tweed jacket in a richly flecked bouclé of burnished hues. OK, so I stole the description off their website. Shoot me. Wait! Add a couple of long sleeved T's in burnt orange and purple, and a pair of jeans that actually fit . . . and . . ta da . . are two sizes smaller than last winter. Oh, happy, happy.

I have been grumpy all day long. No longer. Good food, good rum and a little retail therapy . . . the world is a rosier place.
