mykonos is my happy place on earth.  love the white houses and the blue accents.  the 9TS and i had such a wonderful visit wandering the streets and bending our elbows on the baloney at katarina's.  lee and i did the same thing this may and this time i introduced bob to that tiny space albeit, we were toasting with coffee and oj.

and because i find myself highly amusing, while these three photos were still in the camera, i realized that if i turned the wheel really fast, it was like an old time movie and i could make him drink his coffee in motion.

and here's the view.

 still overcast but it was soon to burn off.  and this from the other side looking back.

and then i dragged him over to the windmills for some up close inspection, because that is what i do.

not satisfied, i dragged the poor man across town and up the hill to another windmill to get the view.

and i like this shot because you can see the sun starting to peek through.

still not content, i led him around some more and bought some sandals before we met the entire crew to set off for another adventure.  

and then because we are who we are, there was this picture.

and then, i'm just going to sneak in this shot and explain it later.

and we're off to this wonderful little organic farm that robin found ahead of time.

talk about funky, i loved this porch where we drank wine and noshed on bread and olives, honey, ham, cheese, tzatziki.

 and made friends with this girl who serenaded us.

but first, we visited a famous chapel and crashed a baptism.  oops.

 amazing huh??

oh, since i am hopping around.  did i mention the farm was organic?

on the way back to town, we also stopped at our tour guides namesake chapel.

over 650 chapels on the island.

back in time for dinner on the ship.  restless, bob and i decided to go back into town and look for a leather bracelet he had seen earlier.  the place was hopping with tourists and locals out for their saturday night dinner.  there was dining in the streets at all the cafe's with platters overflowing with the most amazing food.  next time, i am eating in town.

and then, i wanted a night shot of the birds.

and that's where things got interesting.  while i had the camera pointed at the sky, i noticed a red orange ball of light in the sky approaching from the left so slowly it was almost motionless.  i pointed it out to bob and we stood there watching it as it started moving faster and faster toward a bright star to the right.  now i'm not talking something close to the ground, i'm talking high in the sky.  as it neared the star, it veered and dropped suddenly toward the earth at a rapid rate of speed until it disappeared completely from view behind the end of the bay.  we weren't the only observers.  there were others watching the phenomenon.  and then, it happened again.  more watchers.  more curiosity. cue the sound track from the twilight zone.
