prayers please . . .

Dear Readers,

We head back over to Moffitt Cancer Center tomorrow.  They will do a CT of the 9TS's abdomen, thorax, neck and pelvis, followed by an MRI of his brain.  The next day they will do blood work and we meet with his Medical Oncologist.   If there is no sign of cancer, we will be accepted into their Melanoma Vaccine Trial for the next 12 months.  While there are no guarantees, he might be one of the lucky ones for whom the vaccine works.  But, if they find cancer cells, he is washed out of the program.  The study is strictly for stage iv metastatic melanoma patients currently free of disease.  I know it sounds odd that he falls into both of those categories at that same time but that is the nature of the disease.

We could use all of the prayers, good thoughts and sanity we can muster, that he is cancer free tomorrow and qualifies for the trial.  If not, well, sigh, more surgery, more treatments.  It is what it is.

Thanks so much,

Jeanne and the 9TS
